Taking the lifeworlds of young people seriously

In dealing with group-focused enmity, we rely on lifeworld-oriented offers for young people from all backgrounds and regions. After all, we can only strengthen human rights and democratic attitudes among young people if we authentically build on their everyday experiences and meet them at eye level. Youth cultures offer a rich treasure trove for picking up on the interests of young people, sensitizing them to critical or emancipatory content and enabling them to experience self-efficacy, creativity and youth-oriented democratic participation.

Civic education

With youth culture-oriented political education, we strengthen human rights and solidarity. Together with young people, we DJ, spray, dance, skate and much more. Values such as justice, diversity, solidarity and participation, which otherwise often remain abstract for young people, can be experienced in practice through youth cultures.

Gaming workshops

Political issues and questions of coexistence are also negotiated in games and on gaming platforms. This makes it important to talk to young people about what they encounter in gaming. Cultures Interactive has developed its own game with an editor for this purpose.

Offers for girls

In various workshop formats, we enable girls and young women to explore female roles and different ideas of femininity. In this way, we create spaces for girls in which they can express and develop themselves freely, but also reflect on their own experiences and actions. By learning and trying out (new) skills in protected spaces, we strengthen girls and young women in their self-confidence and encourage them in their personal and democratic attitudes and abilities.
