Youth culture workshops and qualification of a peer leading team

Young people between the ages of 13 and 18, with and without a migrant background and from different social and cultural backgrounds, were strengthened in their personal lives through youth cultural workshops in NKK! Be Respect Ed, young people were empowered in their personal lives through youth culture workshops. At the same time, their understanding of civic participation was to be promoted. In addition, various workshops (street art, hip hop, breakdancing, graffiti, etc.) were held in which the young people had the opportunity to develop different forms of expression for the youth culture campaign “NNK! Be Respect Ed” youth culture campaign.

In its educational work, Cultures Interactive focused on an approach that makes the interconnectedness of origin, gender and personal situation visible and breaks down group-related boundaries. In conjunction with youth cultural forms of expression, this methodological approach was intended to make it possible to work with young people from very different cultural, religious and social backgrounds and social conditions and to encourage them to actively participate in shaping civil society processes. Peer leaders, who were trained during the workshops, were to actively promote respectful coexistence among young people in the neighborhood after the project.
